Byron Velvick has over 16 years as a touring professional angler, currently on the exclusive B.A.S.S. Elite Tour as well as host/analyst of an extensive array of outdoor TV venues. 2-Time Winner of Bassmasters U.S. Open Events and previously held the BASS Record for 3 day limit (Apr.13-15, 2000 Clear Lake, CA). 3 Bassmasters Classic Qualifications and known as the Swim Bait King. In September 2004, Velvick was the bachelor for Season 6 of the National Television Show, "The Bachelor" on ABC.
The Lake:
Amistad Reservoir located on the Rio Grande in South Texas. 64,900 acres of surface area, current Largemouth Bass Lake Record 15.68lbs. Amistad National Recreation Area includes the land area around the Amistad Reservoir on the Texas side of the lake. The lake provides year-round, water-based recreational opportunities, including boating, fishing, swimming, scuba diving, and water-skiing as well as other recreational opportunities for picnicing, camping, and hunting. The area is rich in archeology and rock art, and contains a wide variety of plant and animal life. It is also near the flight path of USAF trainers.
